Our little helper.....

When we were decorating our Christmas tree I look over and there is Case helping himself to the beads we use for the tree. If you look close you will see he has them around his neck and he is digging into the storage container to see what else he can find. He was quite sure the Christmas bulbs were "balls", but we finally were able to get him to leave the tree alone. Actually he is doing quite well staying out of the tree.
However, we have not been bold enough to place any wrapped gifts under the tree, especially since our fellow 2 year old troublemaker (cousin Carsen) decided to unwrap the gifts at the Miller house! :-) However, he did get to slightly open a gift as "Aunt Lynn" sent the boys a book in the mail. You would of thought she sent them gold. Corbin was tickled to get mail and then to open it and find a wrapped gift was icing on the cake. Thanks Aunt Lynn, you made a couple little boys day and as usual left a good friend knowing she is lucky to have you in her life!!!

Not everyone loves Santa.........

So our little Caser wants no part of this Santa Claus and as you can tell Corbin is not so sure about getting any too close. He did briefly mutter that he wanted a tractor for Christmas which I was happy he at least got that out. I think the best part of their whole trip to see Santa was the candy cane at the end. I made them wait until they got home to eat them and Corbin quickly crunched right through his. Case sucked on it as much as I would let him and enjoyed it thoroughly. We went to Treehouse books downtown Holland which was nice compared to the mall. Can't believe Christmas is only 1 week away. We have some shopping and lots of wrapping to go. Even some returning to do since other folks got some of the things I got!!

Sponges

Why is it little ones seem to soak up everything you say? Three can be a trying age, but it is most definitely a cute age! The other day Dan said something Corbin must not of agreed with because all of a sudden I hear Corbin say, "Oh Please Dan!" while rolling his eyes. That is definitely what I say when I think Dan is being a bit melodramatic! Last Saturday we ran in to Kohls and decided to pick up an Elmo doll for Caser. Dan took the boys to the car so we could be all sneaky about our purchase. Once in the car Dan tells Corbin we should leave mommy here. Corbin thinks this is a grand idea. Dan tells him, "No, we can't leave mommy here, that would not be nice!" What would my sweet little angel say, but "No Daddy, let's leave mommy here......I AM SERIOUS!" How a three old determines he is serious is beyond me. I guess it goes right along with the, "You are making me sad, mama!" when he does not get his way.

Caser baby suffers from the same problem our dear baby Kayli does. No matter how old he gets I think he will always be "Baby" Case! However, he is getting to be quite the big boy. He tells me HoHoHo and says Sanda! Lately he thinks he is talking on the phone to "ama".......I hear "Hewo Ama, Hewo." At that point I pretty much know he has been "shopping", that is what we call it when he goes where he is not suppose to be to find what he is not suppose to have! Quite frequently I tell my kid, NO SHOPPING CASE!!!

I am hoping to get some pictures in the schedule this weekend as well as a quick trip to the mall and see if the boys will have a picture with Santa. I am thinking Corbin will do it, but probably not our Caseroo. Might be a picture with Daddy in it too this year! I never got 1 year pics of Case and no 3 year pics for Corbin....been a bit behind but isn't that the story of my life. I still have some shopping to do for Christmas so that might have to be on the list as well.

We also bought a new Camcorder this last weekend so I am hoping to get some footage I can download and put on this blog. A guy I used to work with, Tim, has a family blog his wife keeps and she does a fabulous job with slide shows and video footage. It is quite the nice one. I am hoping to spruce my way boring blog up a bit!! On that note, pushing bed time. Have a great night all and thanks again Kristin for watching the boys tonight. It was very nice of you and as mean as Corbin can be, he likes giving you grief!!

so much, so little...........

So each day you wake up with a hundred things to do it seems, but it always seems like you get so little of it done. I guess when I take a step back and think about defining "little" it is hard to. I paid a few bills, bathed the boys, got them out the door along with myself, put in a full day at work, came home and tried to clean a bit and keep the boys under control, read and took care of the mail, read my email, posted on here....... you know what I am getting at. It seems like you mark very little off your list, but do quite a bit each day! I guess even diaper changes and sippy cup refills and snacks alone can add up to a lot of keeping up with two little guys.

Speaking of little guys, Case is into everything and still trying to throw things away. We took the garbage bag out of the can and pulled the strings tight so he could not get into it. He still tried to pull it out down the aisle way toward the door. The bag won, he fell on his keister and was not too happy. Corbin seems to have a bad case of the smart-alics. He is bound and determined he will do what he wants to. I guess it is kind of nice to see him show his independent side, but it makes you a little crazy. He is also starting to talk in terms of girl/boy. Tonight he says, "Boys, Girls, I need my Kronemeyer blanket." when he was laying in bed. I am not sure why Mom or Dad would not do, but Boys, Girls seemed to be just right. It is also quite comical that his blanket that he got from G'ma Kronemeyer is his Kronemeyer blanket! Case has one to and that is Case's Kronemeyer blanket. I think G'ma hit a home run when she gave the blankets to the boys as Christmas Gifts!

I have next week off so I am quite tickled pink about it. I can't wait to have some time off to try and do things around here. Of course the boys will probably go to the sitters so I have some peace and quiet to do some work! More later.......

Ghost Trailer

Somehow Dan and Corbin got on the topic of Halloween and scary stuff. They saw some kind of trailer and Corbin said, "Daddy, that is a Ghost Trailer" I asked what is a Ghost Trailer and Corbin said, "Oh mommy, it will scare the pants off ya!" Where does this kid come up with this stuff. He is nuts I am sure of it.

We called the local preschool to obtain some information. We may decide to send Corbin in January to pre-school. It would be 12:30 to 3pm two days a week (T&R). I guess I would have to run and pick him up to drop him off at school. That might be kind of nice to see him midday, but not so fun to go out in the winter! We will have to see what the paperwork tells us.

More later, things to do!

That's for kids

Corbin had a video and some books that needed to go to the Library so Dan and him made their jaunt over that way after everyone showered up for the day. They returned their items and decided to go pick out some new ones. Dan was in the movie section with Corbin and he picked up a Dora video. He said, "How about a Dora video?" Corbin gave him a huge look of disgust and said, "Dad, that is too Girlie!" So then Dan picked up a Clifford the big red dog video and suggested that may a good pick. Corbin says, "Dad, you know that is for kids!" He finally settled on a Little Einstein movie. Apparently, that is not for kids. Dan said some lady was in the area just giggling away at Corbin.

Last night I was working from home laying in bed. Corbin comes in and decides he needs to keep me company. He says, "Mom, I need you to move these papers to make room for me." So, I move them and he hops up. He then notices I am under the blankets and informs me I will need to move the paperwork because he needs to be under the covers also. I get everything moved and he looks at me and says, "Thanks, that is perfect." I sure don't know when exactly it happened but he has definitely turned into a little boy all of a sudden. He is a lot of fun and it is really like having another adult around to keep you company some times. He plays and all but just seems so grown up in so many ways. I am really enjoying this age.

Baby Case is his cute little self these days. He is still naughty, we have a tote beside the couch of stuff that we need to do something with so Case thinks it is great to climb on up and stand up there. I think he thinks he is king of the hill and when he flashes you the that big grin with the faint dimple on one side you can't help but smile back. I really need to get some pictures done of my little cuties, it will have to be the generic convenient kind since there never seems to be enough time or money these days!! They both go faster than I can keep track of!!

More later....have a good one!!

So Helpful........NOT

Hello, Hello........ You have to love it when your kids think they are so helpful. After bringing Case in from Trick or Treating last night Dan got him ready for bed. This morning when getting him ready for the sitters house I looked and looked but could not seem to find his shoes. I asked Dan and he did not know what happened to them. We looked in the closet, in the bag that goes to the sitters, under the couch, in his room, and the list goes on..........

Can you guess where the shoes turned up? Our little friend apparently thought he was done with them and needed some new ones because on whim we looked in the trash. You guessed it, there they were!!! We also found a play shovel. We might just have to put a look on the cabinet if this keeps up. Funny how they are so dang cute, but so darn naughty at this stage. He thinks he is a big kid and sure does seem to be able to do a lot for his age. I guess that is what happens when you have a big brother to show you how it goes!! Have a good Friday and weekend all!!

Happy Halloween!

Well a rainy one a bit, but we made it through. We went to my work at 3:45 and went trick or treating through the cubicles. Case is a handful to try to go trick or treating with! A lot of people were c0nfused and thought Case was a cow, but he was Corbin's Dalmation puppy since Corbin was a fireman. Case was into everything and tries to take off. We came home and went for a bit outside around the neighborhood. . Once it started raining so hard we brought Case home and drove around with the neighbor girl and her mom. That made it nice since Maddie is 8 and is nice enough to help Corbin. Jade helped for a bit too....she is 14. What nice neighbor girls we have!!!

Bucket Heads!!

I finally dumped my pics off my camera and found this funny picture of Corbin and Carsen when Carsen spent the night at our house. They both thought it would be grand to jump up and down on the air mattress with the trash can top and bottom on their heads. (Don't worry, I don't think the trash can has ever had even a piece of trash in it, it is much more fun to play with!) I think that they had a great time hanging out together and it was nice to have a little visitor!!

Saying the Wrong Things.....

Have you ever said something only to realize the instant it left your lips it wasn't good. A gal I socialize on occassion at work was telling me her husband hurt his back and had to go in for an MRI. She has two little kids (under 5) and his MRI was at like 1 in the morning. She commented that would be interesting. I asked her if her mom would be able to help out. She looked at me and said, "I guess it has been a while since we talked. My mom just signed up for Hospice House as she has cancer." I guess I am not sure if I feel worse about bringing up a bad topic or not being a decent friend and actualy chatting with her in so long. Life is busy and it seems impossible to make time for even half the things you are doing. But I guess the moral of the story is that Life is short, you really have to pick out all that is important to you and focus on it. I really feel bad for my friend, her mom is not that old. I don't even know how I could ever deal with something like that. It puts life and all that it holds in perspective in a big hurry.

Fenn "Bill"

Corbin asks me tonight, "Where does Papa live?" Of course I told him Fennville, but he thought I said Fennbille. He thought that was hilarious. He told me who is that? That is not papa's name. He is too funny. Also tonight after going potty, he comes out in nothing but his undies. So, losing the clothes is taken a little farther today. What a crazy kid!

Work to do!

What a wonderful day! I was telling my neighbor that when you think we might be putting up a Christmas tree the last week of next month is sounds absolutely CRAZY!! We played outside, the boys (yes, all three) took a nap while I cleaned and then it was time to play some more. Kolene sent an old email she found, isn't it funny to think about the attached picture! It was about 1 year ago......my how time flies. Dan is going to his mom's house and taking the bike and carrier. I think the three will go down by the water. I will stick around home and try to do some cleaning. I know what an exciting life I have. :-) Sometimes that is the best way, no drama or bad circumstances to deal with.

Hello Hello

Today was a nice day with a family walk for the Breast Cancer Awareness. I was not real great at raising cash, but it was nice to be with the family and get out in the fresh air. I only have one blister so I can't complain. :-) We all took a nice nap this afternoon so that made for a nice afternoon. Dan wanted a chix burrito so he went to get one from Village Inn. The boys and I spent some time playing outside. Caser was all over the tractor and making all the cute sound effects to go with it. He is such a big boy these days. He has been giving Corbin kisses like mad, it is so cute to see them interact. I can tell they really love each other. I can only hope they will grow up to be the best of friends. Corbin is funny these days too. I swear everytime he goes to the bathroom at night he comes out missing some form of clothing. Usually he loses the pants and runs around in his undies and shirt. However, tonight it was the shirt. With winter coming he will have to change his ways!! He was mildly perturbed with me this morning for not taking him to papa and G-ma's since Carsen was going, but he got over it quick. More to come.......
